On the First floor

  • Entrance to the Library – entrance to the Library is restricted to students and faculty of the institute on producing an Identity card at the check counter
  • Property counter – where the users deposit their belongings and are allowed only to carry a notebook, except if they have to return the books to the library.
  • E-Library - which is equipped with 12 machines where in the students can log on using their internet accounts provided by the institute and surf the Internet, browse the e-journals, ebooks etc. download into their accounts and all this is made available without any extra charge.
  • Multimedia storage– The library has a good collection of around 2500 multimedia documents (CD/DVD etc.) which are issued to the users for a period of 2 days.
  • Circulation Counter – All the check-in and check-out of documents in the library happen in this section. There are 3 counters for the same.
  • Technical processing room – for in house processing of the documents procured by the library.
  • The stacks section: the stacks section is well organized according the major streams viz. CE/IT, EC, IC, ELECT, MECH, CIVIL, Maths, Physics/Chemistry etc. and in turn each of this collection is internally organized according to narrow subjects with stack guides to support easy navigation.
  • The reading area – there is a seating capacity of 80 on the first floor itself.
  • Newspaper section – The Library has subscribed to around 15 dailies, local and national; Gujarati and English.
  • Librarians chamber is also on the first floor.


On the ground floor

  • The Periodical section: all the print periodicals are on display and are organized according to the subjects.
  • Reprography section: there is photocopying machine made available for reprography services for in house and for users too.
  • Stack section – The stack section for PG courses viz. MCA and MBA and the reference section is organized on the ground floor again internally according classified according to narrow subjects.
  • Periodical archives – the library archives the periodicals by binding them together into a bound volume and are available for reference purpose only
  • Project section – the project reports of the students are available for reference purpose.
  • Faculty reading room- the library also provides a separate reading area for the faculties and also a place where the students can discuss with the faculty for their queries
  • Reading area – on the ground floor too there is seating capacity of 50.
  • Reading room – The best part of the Library is a separate 24X7 reading room with a separate entrance to it; where the students can carry their own books and study. During the night hours the books are also issued for night reading; that is a student can select a maximum of 5 books and keep them aside at the circulation counter before the circulation counter closes for the day and later these books are sent to the in-charge of the reading room to issue to the students on their ID cards.
