Placement Policy 2009-10

Eligibility:

 

All the students expected to graduate from the institute in the year 2010 shall be eligible to participate in the placement activities 2009-10. Students graduating in 2009, if not placed, will also be eligible to participate.

Definitions : 

 

1. Cell: AITS Student Placement Committee.

2. Offer of a Job: A student would be considered to have been offered a job if his/her name appears in the list of successful candidates declared after the process by the company through the Placement Cell.

3. Rejection of an offer: A job would be considered to be rejected if the concerned student informs about the rejection to the Cell in person. All rejections on a particular day would be counted as one rejection.

4. Category of a company: The classification of a company into NICHE or Regulars, based on the criterion of Pay Package and student perception

5.Up gradation: A student already placed in a Regular category company is eligible for a NICHE category company. Up-gradation does not result in rejecting the previous offer.

Regulations :

 

Overview

A student can participate in the placement process of a company subject to the following conditions: -
a) The Cell has confirmed his/her registration.

b) He/She meets the requirements specified
   (i) by the company and

   (ii) in the policy.

Offer of a Job

a) The company would provide the job offers to the Cell and not to the students directly.

b) When the cell receives an offer from a company for a student, it would communicate the same to him/her.

c) While communicating the offer, the Cell would also declare a time period within which the students would have to inform the Cell regarding the decision on the offer. If a student fails to do so, it would be assumed that the offer has been accepted by him/her.

d) In cases where a student receives a second offer, he/she would have to decline the first job by submitting a regret letter to the Cell before accepting the new offer.

e) The purview of the Cell would be limited only to the offers made as a part of the campus placements.

f) All the offers made on a particular? Placement date? Would be declared together.

Eligibility criteria for participation in a company's placement process :

a) A student selected in a? Regulars? Category Company has the option of rejecting the offer for another? Regulars? Category company, only once.

b) A student selected in a? Regulars? Category company has the option of upgrading to an? NICHE? Category company.

c) Resulting Permutations with students are as follows :

    1. Regulars-Regulars-NICHE (Rejection-Upgradation)

    2. Regulars-NICHE(Upgradation)

Rejection of an Offer :

a) If a student decides to participate in the placement process of a company, he/she cannot for-go it in between. In such a case, would be considered that he/she has rejected the offer.

b) A student can reject only one job offer and that would be the case, when a student rejects a ?Regulars? category company for another ?Regulars? category company.

c) Upgradation to a higher category company is not considered as a rejection to an offer.

For Scheduling of the Visit of Companies following information from them is required beforehand:       (To be filled in Response Sheet and sent back)

a) Compensation package declared.

b) Confirmation of campus visit and preferred dates

NOTE: After a date specified by the cell, it may declare the placement process open for all the students (placed and unplaced) for niche and highly specialized companies that recruit in small numbers
